Living with OCD
A typographic exhibition exploring my father’s experience with obsessive-compulsive disorder. The exhibition aims to raise awareness of OCD by illustrating the reality of the disorder and the extent to which people are affected by it. Each artefact represents a compulsion my father feels compelled to carry out.

Wallet and bank cards symbolising my father’s need to continuously check and count his cards to ensure they are safe.

The inside has been designed to indicate the exact location each card is required to be in, in order for him to feel at ease.

The individual cards outside of the wallet highlight the repetitive routine that needs to be performed out loud every time the wallet is open and checked over.

3D Poster featuring a light switch representing my father’s repetitive checking of electrical appliances.

3D poster showcasing my father’s thought process when trying to leave the house - a symbol of the fear that the home is not secure.

3D poster detailing the overwhelming sense of fear when cleaning compulsions are not carried out.

A shrine in memory of lost time highlighting the significant impact OCD has on normal everyday activities and relationships.

Dates are collaged multiple times to show that OCD takes control of sufferers and prioritises what they can or cannot do.
