Charma Cycling
The Chama Cycling system is designed to give both the cyclist and motorist an early warning of dangerous situations on the road.
The system includes a rear facing radar and camera that uses predictive AI to track vehicles approaching the cyclist to assess the threat they may hold. If a threat is detected by the AI a laser warning system is displayed on the ground beside the cyclist. The laser warning system is in the shape of a heartbeat to give the driver some perspective that the cyclist they are passing is human too.

The Chama Cycling system is built to give new cyclist more confidence while cycling in busy traffic.

The laser projector is located at the back of the design and freely spins allowing it to act like a single axis gimbal.

The system mounts to the seat stays of the bike as it saves the laser from being blocked by the rider when moving. This position also provides the system with a clear point of view of the road.

This exploded view of the product shows all of the components that make up the system.

Mouldable chalks are heat up in boiling water and moulded to the bike frame ensuring a perfect fit on any bike.

A working proof of concept model was made to show how the internal components work together.

The final model is shown here mounted to a bike to perform some user testing.
