Charcoal Ash Reuse Barbecue
Designed a grill that collects and stores charcoal ash after use and researched a new material made from charcoal ash and clay as a liner for grills, and developed a website to give people a better understanding of how to use charcoal ash in the garden and promote sustainability.
A new material made from charcoal ash and clay has been developed as a grill liner and a website has been developed to give people a better understanding of how to use charcoal ash in their own gardens, promoting sustainable development.
Extensive experimentation with materials, testing each sample for heat resistance and robustness, finding the right ratio of charcoal ash to clay.
Interviews with a professional clay studio, selected crank clay mixed with charcoal ash and kiln fired at 1280 degrees to make the material stronger and more heat resistant.
The charcoal ash was proportionally mixed with clay, kiln-fired and then subjected to charcoal burning tests and several barbecues, and the material is heat resistant and very strong.
