Every Body : The Anti Diet Culture Organisation
The intention of my design response is to inform and educate the public on the issue of diet culture, while raising awareness to help prevent any further harm. I have created an organisation called “Every Body” which aims to do just this. My exhibition resembles how a pop-up event for this organisation would run.
The tape measure has been created to take attention away from body measurements and towards the bigger picture.

The “Wee Book of What Not to Say” has been created to inform people on the harm diet culture fuelled language can cause. By highlighting this, it can hopefully help reduce the amount of this language. Examples of ways to respond to this has also been provided for those affected by diet culture.

Posters have been made from “what not to say” and “what to say” phrases, handwritten and gathered by the public.

Stickers have been designed with the intention of covering calorie labels.

The banner with “The History of Diet Culture” is used to highlight how long diet culture has been an issue for, and how harmful it is.

I created leaflets with information about diet culture and the organisation. These can be taken away from the pop up events and used to broaden your knowledge on the issue.

Pens have been designed with the intention of covering calorie labels.

Similarly to the tape measure, the scale design has been created to make people think twice about body measurements.
I set up the pop up event at a gym to reach my target audience. I spoke to the gym members about “Every Body” and educated them on diet culture. Viewers also got the chance to interact and test out items out.
